About Me

    Dementia and Home Care Options

When my father was first diagnosed with dementia, I moved him into my home and I provided care on my own. I spent all of my free time making sure that medications were taken properly and a strict diet was followed. After several months of constant care, exhaustion set in and I started to become irritable. I knew that both my private and professional lives were suffering, so I looked for a better care option. I soon hired a home healthcare aide who quickly became part of the family. If you are currently taking care of an elderly family member, then you should know that you have many options available to you. Read my blog to learn about these options and also find out how to take care of yourself as a caretaker. I have even provided information on how to keep your loved one's mind sharp and active.
